As well as her primary career as a director, Anne has a background in technical theatre and live entertainment. She can operate light and sound, follow spots and can work in a fly tower.

Technical Director: ‘A Christmas Carol’

Producer by Front Room Productions, with a script adapted by Olivia Race, Anne joined the production as it toured to The John Cooper Studio Theatre in York, and The Bradford Playhouse.

Anne designed and operated the lighting, using fully automated lighting systems present in both of these venues. This was an immersive promenade production, and Anne also established the lighting states in the ancillary rooms used across the venues.

Anne devised a lighting plot, and operated sound and lighting for this R&D piece of theatre, looking at the lives of four women with remarkable stories who have been largely overlooked by history.

Sound Operation:  Hamlet, various shows for Preston Guildhall Theatre, various Light Entertainment Acts, including solo vocalists, bands, comedians and speciality acts for Butlin’s Starcoast World, Pwllheli.

Anne has sourced props, set dressing and set components for a number of productions. This has included: plays set in the modern day; in the 1970s; in an imagined future; in a dystopian world; and in Edwardian London. Anne has a great creative flair, which allows her to see how low cost items can be easily transformed and used with other items to create a specific feeling of time and place.

Pygmalion – Company Manager

Co-ordinating relationships between the director, actors and back stage members of crew. Ensuring production remained within budget. Establishing technical requirements and liaising with sound and lighting technicians to make the director’s vision a reality within the capabilities of the venue and available equipment.
