Memberships and Training:

Anne is a member of Stage Directors UK, the Young Vic Genesis Directors Network, the Royal Exchange Open Exchange Network, the Lowry Studio Scheme, and the JMK Trust Directors North group, based at HOME in Manchester. Anne regularly attends the workshops and other events organised by these groups and theatres.

In October 2017, Anne participated in a three day Research & Development workshop at the Young Vic. Leo Skilbeck of Milk Presents led a diverse group of emerging theatre-makers through an exploration of Brecht, and how his works may be able to be interpreted through a queer-lens. Anne learnt a number of techniques to explore the cannon of a writer, and to create ideas which could be developed into theatre shows.

In June 2017, Anne was selected to attend the intensive three day JMK Trust Residency: The Director and The Playwright workshop at HOME. The first two days were led by Richard Beecham, who focused on monologue as a form of theatre. The third day was facilitated by Dan Bird who focused on principals of designing and staging a production.

In April 2017 Anne attended a one-day session run by The National Theatre. ‘Step-Change Light’ was a personal development workshop open by invitation only to theatre makers who had applied to the full Step-Change programme.

In February and March 2017 Anne attended the RTYDS Introduction to Directing short course at Derby Theatre.
